Barcelona is one of the favourite destinations for tourists. It is the capital of the autonomous region Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain. The city has hosted many international events, including the International Exhibitions in 1888 and 1929 and the XXV Summer Olympics in 1992. It is also known for its history and culture. Barcelona is the birthplace of Antonio Gaudi - a famous architect whose work is many of the buildings in the city. The city is also full of parks and gardens that are worth visiting because of the colorful magic they radiate. There are also different places, such as La Boqueria and Barri Gothic, that can show you the essence of local life. If you are a fan of sports, you can visit the Olympic Stadium, which is one of the symbols of the Barcelona. For those of you who don't have a big budget, Barcelona offers many places, attractions and opportunities that are free. Opportunities include organized free city tours or walks in the gardens and parks. Walk to Tibidabo Hill

If you love the mountains, then a walk to Tibidabo is a very good idea. On top of it is built the beautiful Basilica of Sagrad Kor, which will definitely impress you. You will also have the opportunity to have fun in the amusement park, which is located very close.

La Boqueria

Paradise for everyone who loves to eat. They offer everything - from fresh fruits and vegetables, juices, fruit salads, and all kinds of meat and fish products that can be prepared on site. You can get a package with the food of your choice for 2 to 5 euros per package.

The magic fountain

Built in 1929 for the World's Fair, since then this place is one of the favorite places of residents and guests of the city. The fountain consists of a number of water cascades and fountains. In summer the light show is held for three days from Thursday to Saturday and in the winter season - on Friday and Saturday.

Barri gotic

The Gothic Quarter is located near the sea and is the Old Town of Barcelona. If during the day the streets of the neighborhood look somehow deserted, then in the evening these same streets turn into a real colorful fiesta. Restaurants and shops are popping up everywhere.

The Citadel Park

The Citadel Park is located in the city center. This is a beautiful park where you can see green parrots nesting on tall palm trees. Interesting attractions are the water cascade located in the northern part of the park and the stone statue of a mammoth in real size.

Every first Sunday of the month there are free entrances to some very interesting museums in the city.

Barcelona is blessed with a favorable Mediterranean climate. Early summer and fall are ideal periods to visit, especially between May and June, September and October.

Ideal neighborhoods to stay in Barcelona are Plaça Espanya and Sants.
